I am a geek (why else would I be blogging?) Nearly a decade ago I forswore TV watching. Happily, I can boast that my time spent reading has significantly increased since abandoning the boob-tube; however, lately I’ve replaced some of my reading with goofing on the web. Well, if I’m going to web surf, at least I can exercise my brain through a bit of writing. Hence, this blog.
Over the past few years, I’ve come to think that social hierarchy is one of the most important ills that plagues us humans. At first, I exercised my anti-hierarchy beliefs via political action. In that sense, I might be labeled a socialistic anarchist. However, in the past couple of years, I’ve eliminated all my political activities. The inner-geek has risen and conquered the inner-politician. Now, all my anarchist inclinations focus on using technology to smash social hierarchy. Naturally, the wiki is my principle weapon. I don’t wish, however, to limit myself to a single weapon. I look forward to exploring new technologies that will lead to social equity. To this end, I’ve decided to start blogging about anarchic technologies. This is my term (I don’t claim to be the only one to ever use this term, but I admit that I’ve never heard anyone else use it). Related buzz words would include “Enterprise 2.0 applications”, “social software”, “knowledge socialism”, etc.
Please join in my discussion. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey there, I think this is the first comment on your blog, if it is then I guess it’s good news that it’s from an agreer and not a dissenter.
I also believe that the only frontier for liberation is technology, always has been and always will be. But that’s only if you look at technology the way Kevin Kelly looks at it in this article: http://www.kk.org/thetechnium/archives/2007/03/the_gift_of_stu.php. That technology is basically everything that is the application or expression of human thought.
Politics is therefore a form of technology and so are many other things that we don’t consider to be technology.
I am also an anarchist or libertarian socialist or whatever you want to call it who believes that it is now time to harness the new “social” technologies such as web 2.0, mobile/ubiquitous web to change the world. The phenomenal success of Wikipedia is the first clear-cut triumph for anarchism.
I am on the lookout for ways to “wikiize” all aspects of the web and eventually bringing about a social revolution through technology as opposed to the violent oxymoronic nature of revolutionary politics to which a lot of leftists adhere to today.

get back to me if you want to work on a joint blogging effort. I might not be a good writer but I’ll learn to blog, besides I absolutely understand and sympathize with your cause. You should read charles leadbeater’s blog on how web 2.0 and modern technologies are changing the traditional hierarchical structures of innovation and eventually production: http://www.wethinkthebook.net/
